Norway’s Knutsen OAS, Haugesund, nominated BSA and China’s HuaRun DaDong Dockyard (HRDD) three repair projects during this year, from June to October (2020) – all involving LNG tankers (GTT Membrane type).
These three vessels were the first Norwegian-operated LNG tankers repaired at HRDD.
The first was the 173,400 m3 Sevilla Knutsen in May/June, which was followed by her sistership Ribera del Duero Knutsen in July/August. The third vessel was another sistership – the Valencia Knutsen repaired during September/October.
All three vessels were built in South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME)
Apart from general repairs, all three vessels also underwent the installation of BWM systems and were all redelivered on schedule despite the COVID-19 situation.
HRDD has manifested their position to be the leading shipyard in China for repairs and dry docking of LNG vessels from International ship owners.
