RIMS (Robotics In Maintenance Strategies) have secured a further class approval from Korean Register of Shipping (KRS) and CLASSNK for the use of Remote Inspection Techniques (drones) during surveys of enclosed spaces. Over the past 12 months RIMS have successfully secured class approvals from multiple societies; Bureau Veritas, Lloyd’s Register, ABS, RINA

RIMS TEAMS UP WITH DUTCH DRONE COMPANY

 

 

 

 

RIMS have joined forces with Dutch Drone Company (DDC) to create a new partnership which will allow RIMS to offer the market an enhanced package of drone services for both indoor and outdoor drone flights in the Netherlands.

Now available in Singapore : Drone inspections in confined spaces!! We are happy to announce that RIMS BV and On Site Alignment Pte Ltd have established a partnership in Singapore to work together and offer inspections with drones onboard of ships in the Asian region. Drone inspections can be used in confined spaces such as ballast and water tanks, pipes, cargo and storage tanks.

ABS APPROVAL OUTDOOR SURVEYS

 

 

 

 

RIMS BV passed the audit of Classification Society ABS to support clients during outdoor surveys of externals of ships hull constructions and mobile offshore units with drones. David Knukkel:” For ABS we were already certified to use drones to inspect internals like tanks and holds.

DRONE INSPECTION TIME AND MONEY SAVER

 

 

 

 

Drone inspection of the inner topside of a ballast tank by RIMS BV saved a customer up to USD 40.000,- by avoiding tank cleaning and 4 days of work building and removing scaffolding. Just a 20 minute flight to proof the repairs on the outside did not damage the coating on the inside of the tank was sufficient.
