Cernaval Group shipyard is ideally located to offer International ship owners a wide range of quality services in the Strait of Gibraltar close to Algeciras Port. The shipyard is the largest privately owned shipyard in Spain.

Mr. Mario Lopez and his team have executed ship repairs and conversions close to four decades. Cernaval and its owner have gained the best reputation among ship owners worldwide. New clients and repeated customers from all over the World are bringing their vessels to Cernaval to be repaired, converted and modified by the shipyards proud and dedicated work force.

The shipyard in Port of Algeciras is a fully equipped and modern ship repair facility operating a large graving dock 400m x 50m. and a floating dock of 230x39m, 22.000 ton lifting capacities incl fully owned Berths, the longest is 510 m with a water depth of 15.5 m in Algeciras Bay.

With modern covered workshops, tower and mobile cranes from 50 up to 450 tons, over 120.000 m2 total area including offices and more than 1000 m2 for production, project management, marketing, Technical Superintendents offices and Owner´s representative, provides an excellent working atmosphere. As the shipyards clientel are increasing, the shipyard management is planning to establish a new fully equipped Cryonic Work shop to serve their Gas tanker clients.

The shipyard is certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800. The shipyard is in compliannce with the International Ship and Port facility Security (ISPS) code. Life support equipment, security, safety inspectors and auxiliary emergency power units are also part of our standard equipment. One of the biggest international airports in Spain (Málaga Airport) connects with the Shipyards in Algeciras in 60 min drive.
